You should begin planning as soon as the student receives their temporary permit.

It takes most students a month or two to complete the online course. Then it can take a bit to schedule behind the wheel lessons.

Test day minus 6 months- Get temporary permit

Test day minus 6 months- Begin logging driving hours in short increments

Test day minus 4 months- Register for drivers ed and begin online/classroom courses

Test day minus 2 months- Schedule behind the wheel lessons

Test day minus 2 weeks- Be done with last behind the wheel lesson

Test day- Take drivers test after six months on the temporary permit and with 50 hours of driving, 10 at night (not including mandatory drivers ed).

The absolute best way to choose a driving school is to ask those who have gone through the process already. They can usually give insight as to their experience and the value they felt they received from the school.

Always check with the Ohio Traffic Safety Office “Find a Driving School” tool to ensure the school is state licensed.

It all depends on the student. If they are self-starting, can stay on task, and manage their time the online course should be sufficient. It can be done in as little as six days if the student does the maximum four hours per-day. If you feel like your student needs more structure or face-to-face education, classroom is going to be right for you. 

Yes, all of our instructors meet strict State of Ohio standards and stay updated on licensure requirements as well as the latest in driving instructor methods and practices.

Yes! We will pick up from any location within a reasonable distance from the student's registered address. We will determine if the pickup or dropoff works and will offer alternative locations to meet the student if necessary.

The certificate of completion will be issued to the student within THREE business days of completing their last behind the wheel lesson in most cases. Once the certificate is issued it will be emailed to the student (or parent/guardian).

Assuming the student is otherwise fully qualified, upon issue, the student is eligible to go on the BMV website and make an appointment to take their drivers test at any testing location in the State of Ohio.

It varies throughout the year and by test location but GENERALLY speaking testing locations usually have some availability a week or two out throughout the year. It is important to check all locations and times for availability that works with your schedule and goal.
