Important Timing Rules

Classroom/Behind the Wheel- In-person 24-hour course and the mandatory 8 hours of Behind the Wheel (BTW) training combined must be completed within 12 months of beginning the first in-person class.

Online Course/Behind the Wheel- Students have 6 months to complete the online course, plus an additional 6 months to complete the 8 hours of Behind the Wheel lessons.

*If coursework is not completed in the allotted time, the program must be restarted and applicable fees paid again.*

24-Hour In-Person Driver's Education Class

Eight lessons, three hours each, taught over two consecutive weeks (Monday–Thursday). Sessions are held approximately every two months. Times vary by session; check the current schedule for exact times. Classes use slides, videos, in-class activities, and instructor stories. Location: 680 Moore Rd., Avon Lake (rear of building).

The last class must be taken last; the final exam is proctored on that day. Students who miss a class must make arrangements to make it up in a later session.

No classroom instruction at this time. We can refer students to another company if they must take the course in person.

Timing: In-person course + BTW must be completed within 12 months of the first class.

24-Hour Online Driver's Education Course

A state-certified online course that satisfies the mandatory 24-hour classroom requirement. Study at your own pace on any mobile, tablet, or computer, no set schedule, no commute required.

Progress is automatically saved, so you can stop and pick up right where you left off. Once registered, you'll receive a course link and access code to get started. The school is automatically notified upon your completion. From there, you'll move on to scheduling your Behind the Wheel (BTW) sessions.

We are affiliated with www.hellodrive.io as our preferred online course provider. The online course + BTW package includes access to the course in HelloDrive.

Timing: Must be completed within 6 months of completing student agreement and payment. Then 6 additional months to complete BTW from date of agreement and payment.

Behind the Wheel Instruction (Minimum 8 Hours)

Four two-hour sessions, one-on-one with an incredible instructor. Sessions progress from fundamentals through increasingly advanced skills, covering town, city, rural, and expressway driving environments.

We pick up and drop off the student at a location of your choosing. Sessions can be on consecutive days or spread out, whatever works for the student and family,'s and subject to instructor availability.

BTW hours are the final requirement needed to receive your certificate of completion and schedule your driving test. The State of Ohio Completion Certificate is issued within three business days of completion of the last mandatory lesson.

Additional and non-mandatory lessons can be structured at the student and/or parent’s choosing if preferred (focus on maneuverability, freeway, etc.)

Timing: When paired with in-person: within 12 months of the first class. When paired with online: 6 months for the online course; an additional 6 months for behind-the-wheel lessons.
